Celtic Connections Festival

Celtic Connections festival is the biggest winter music festival anywhere. Held every January for the 16th year in the row. Recent winner of 2 awards: Best Multi-Venue Festival and Excellence in Scotland's Tourist Industry. In 2009 Celtic Connection joins Homecoming Scotland to celebrate Robert Burns' 250th birthday. With top performances from over 1,500 artists and 20 countries alongside Scotland's own traditional music talent and hosted at over 10 popular venues across Glasgow.

Glasgow Film Festival

Its all about the film! 5th year running, fastest growing film event in Britain. Held across multiple viewing venues across Glasgow you can join in to watch the premiers of the newest films, the famous and the noteworthy, the new and the old. Indulge yourself in the blockbusters, documentaries, shorts, and independents. And if you want a break from movie watching, Glasgow Film Festival will host many of exciting events, galas and glamourous guests around Glasgow. Aye Write! Book Festival

Aye Write! is organised and delivered by Glasgow’s library service on behalf of Culture and Sport Glasgow running from 6th March to 21st March. The festival builds on the great tradition of writing in Glasgow and Scotland, which continues today in the work of, among others, the Creative Writing School at the University of Glasgow. The festival brings together the best Glasgow, Scottish, British and international writing. It is dedicated to celebrating writing and publishing, promoting reading and encouraging debate.

Glasgow Music Festival

Glasgow Music Festival is an annual festival of music, speech, drama and dance first held in 1911. Each year around 7,000 performers take part in the two week music festival in Glasgow. The Festival covers a wide range of music including classical, folk, jazz, rock and traditional Scottish music. There are events for solo singers and instrumentalists in addition to a full programme for choirs, orchestras, bands and ensembles.
